When you have some every day, the relief compounds. We’ve got hundreds of notes from people who say that this works. And even if you’re feeling great, it’s a super tasty drink.
11 oz (330 ml) coconut water
1 thumb-sized knob ginger, peeled
2 full ribs celery (4 halves)
1 lemon, peeled (drink garnish size)
1 cup (30 g) spinach
1 cup (165 g) pineapple chunks, fresh or frozen
4 ice cubes
Just made this with apple instead of pineapple, since that was the sweet fruit I had on hand. So delicious! The 45 second smoothie setting worked great (I try to limit the time since I live in an apartment and always feel self-conscious about running the blender on high for a long time). Thank you!!! This is the first recipe of yours that I have tried, just got my Vitamix last week.
I just made this…Wow!!! Delicious and Refreshing!!! This will be a go-to for me.
We’ll see what it does for my lower back muscle pain. Either way, it’s a great health drink to add to my other smoothie options.
Thank you!
Ginger remains an essential herb in Ayurveda during stimulation and healing. Best recognized for its anti-inflammatory features, Ginger can be added to your everyday menu. This statement of ginger lubricant, as well as drinking ginger tea, can also prove powerful outcomes.
Just wanna say thank you for introducing this green smoothie. Today is my 2nd-day drinking. It helps.
Turmeric remains generally investigated and usually used seasoning in the USA with fabulous antiseptic and healing qualities. Described as the ‘golden wonder’, turmeric can be applied to explain various diseases, especially pain, assisting yourself to develop joint pains including arthritis.
This is a tasty juice! We have made it twice, and it’s refreshing! Thanks for sharing.
Just wanna say thank you for introducing this green smoothies. Today is my 2nd day drinking. It helps. It subside the hip and buttock pain.
Asking is there any juices ingredients for natural remedy of delayed period. Thanks again.
Can you make extra and store it in the fridge for the week or does that not work?
Should last in the fridge for a few days 👍
Any difference in making this “smoothie” versus putting these same ingredients into a “juicer”?
You can put it into a juicer if you’d like — you just won’t be getting any of the dietary fiber and nutrients in the extracted portion
I really appreciate having the weights of the ingredients in the recipe. I think the spinach must be off, though. I’ve made this twice and can’t get more than 200gm of spinach to fit in my Vitamix container. (In comparison, your Apple Carrot Kale Smoothie recipe lists one cup of kale as weighing 65gm–just tried it today &=Yum!). I’m new to green smoothies and kinda clueless, so trying to go strictly by the measurements for now. Really like the way this tastes. Thanks!
Helpful feedback, Mike. I’m seeing that 1 cup of spinach equals 30 grams, so you’re 100% right here. I’m going make the adjustment now. Thanks!
Just had a baby and for 3 weeks I been taking ibuprofen and it wasn’t really helping all that well, found this and from when I drank it my back pain started fading away 🥺😭 I am in tears! I’m sooo happy I found this, this juice is helping me cope with the pain so I can feel more relaxed taking care of my baby. If you’re reading this and suffering with lower back pain MAKE THIS JUICE!!! I promise you’ll feel better ❤️
Amazing. Thanks so much for this, Vicky. Congrats on the baby and keep up the good work with this juice. Love love
Is 24 ounce a single serving? Do you know if you can add something like apple cider vinegar and it not affect the affects?
Thanks for pointing this out — I think they’re 24 oz servings, yes. And I think it actually makes two of them.
Feel free to add apple cider vinegar — shouldn’t affect the affects.
Just made this. Its not sweet at all. Tastes like celery and its spicy from the ginger. Cant say i love it, but can tolerate this if it lessons knee pain.
Maybe try some more pineapple and less ginger? I think you’ll like the results (of the juice and knee!).
Un yuck. First recipe that I did not like. We dried making it sweet… dates, an apple,…agave… nothing helped…strong celery after taste.
Oh no, sorry to hear that. Celery can be polarizing
Hi. Do you have a video of you guys making this juice? Would love to see. I’m making it as we speak for my sciatic pain, and hopefully I’m doing it right. 😬 Thanks!!
Hopefully soon!
Will this work for knee and ankle joint pain?
It’s a placebo. So yes, it works for knee and ankle joint pain, for sure. 🙂
About placebo….I’ve been using your turmeric ginger latte as a placebo for my sciatic nerve pain before bed. Yum.
Just made Mah a giant batch of this. Was in response to her sudden lower back pain! (Pretty sure it’s from her walking down and back up our giant hill here in Honolulu.)
We were out of fresh (or frozen) pineapple. Had a little bit of candied, dried pineapple from the Hula Bites and used that. Used frozen mango and half of a fresh orange, too. Ended up kind of like a mix between this drink and a Carolyne’s Green Smoothie.
Also, it’s not “placebo” to say that reducing inflammation reduces pain. That’s how anti-inflammatory pills work too.
Is there supposed to be pineapple in this? If so, how much?
My mistake! Just added pineapple: one cup of fresh or frozen. Enjoy!
I was just thinking the other day about how when I first met your Mom she was constantly struggling with her lower back pain. She often needed a pillow behind her back and had to trade chairs for comfort. I just realized that I never hear about her pain anymore. It didn’t just “go away”, but it does seem to have subsided. Best guess as to why? She started doing yoga every morning and blending up a smoothie in her Vitamix!
