This recipe is a winner! My partner and I both love it, and I make it once or twice per week. I made it initially exactly per recipe (although I used plain macadamia milk), and we loved it. I have since played with the recipe a bit by subbing vanilla yogurt for the milk and/or other non-dairy milks, and that was such a rich creamy outcome! Yummy! I also have been adding lots of nuts and seeds (hemp, flax, pumpkin, chia, etc.), and the flavor and texture remain great!
I personally hate the taste of protein powders (usually), but I have used it in this recipe, and I like it. The cocoa and berries cover it up!-
Love it when people make our recipes their own!

If I don’t add the protein powder, would you recommend I add anything else? I know it’s optional but not sure if it changes the texture or thickness.

I usually make it w/o the protein powder. You might want to add some more sweetness depending on your personal preference.
