How do you write about one of the greatest gifts you’ve given to the world?
The answer is: you don’t.
Instead, you let other people do it for you.
Below are some of our favorite stories staring the recipe that began it all. Originally from Life is NOYOKE, it’s Cashew Queso:
What’s your cashew queso story?
You have a moment where you say to yourself, “This is the last time.”
It was after a work party. We ordered Lou Malnatti’s deep dish pizza.
For a while, you’re willing to pay the price. You feel a little gross after.
But this time was the last time. I was doubled over on the toilet and crying.
With zero experience creating recipes or being on camera, I filmed myself *creating this queso recipe. It wasn’t pretty.
But now, because of Cashew Queso, I can have nachos and mac and cheese and cheesy gordita crunches and messy sliders. And best of all, it’s available for the world to enjoy…
…even those who still eat cheese.
All the easy dinners for kids are cheesy. And you want to do better.
But here’s the problem: kids still want cheese and you still want quick and easy.
So we started using this queso recipe as a dinner centerpiece.
Whatever they like to dip, let them dip. Because what they’re eating is basically just nuts and a red pepper.
They’re in control. And you’re in control.
The only challenge will be telling them the leftovers are all gone.
Queso nachos is on our weekly menu and is worth considering adding it to yours. Here’s a *video story that brings this to life.
You have time to make something good. But you don’t want to fuss.
What else could we do with this queso?
Yes, yes, and yes.
The queso is great as a sauce on on tacos or sliders — here’s a *Jackfruit Tacos recipe.
It’s great as a basis for soup — here’s a recipe for *Broccoli “Cheese” Soup. And another soup that’s similar, Beer “Cheese” Soup.
And here’s a giant sweet potato ready to be doused in queso.
What else would this be good on?
So you show up to the party with a bowl of queso and some chips. First thing they’ll ask:
What’s in it?
Whatever you do, don’t answer until they’ve tried it.
Don’t say it’s dairy-free unless they need it to be. *Don’t say it’s vegan unless they need it to be.
Just say, ‘It’s our queso and it’s our most popular recipe.’
Sam Wise Wordsperson
And yes, you can say, “It’s ours.” Because it is.
This is our recipe. All of ours.
Make it as:
Go. Go make it now, friends, and share it with the world.
